  • Dr. Kiel offers weekly psychotherapy for adult individuals.

    He helps many clients with relationships, but does not offer couples or family therapy.

  • Dr. Kiel offers therapy for teenagers in certain circumstances but does not work with minors under age 12. Please reach out to discuss if your teenager is a good fit.

  • Sessions are $200 each. Dr. Kiel also offers a limited number of a sliding scale openings based on financial need, down to $150.

  • Unfortunately, no. 

    Dr. Kiel can provide a superbill for services provided, which some insurance companies will reimburse for. Check with your insurance company to see if they will accept a superbill for therapy.

  • Therapy every other week is simply not as effective or helpful as meeting more regularly.

    For this reason, Dr. Kiel does not offer every other week sessions.

  • Dr. Kiel is a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, which means that he cannot prescribe medications. 

    However, Dr. Kiel does provide therapeutic support for people who are starting or taking medications, or for people who are trying to figure out if medications would be helpful.

  • Sort of... Our building does not allow pets, so dogs or other pets cannot come into the therapy office. Certified service animals are an exception to this policy. 

    But Dr. Kiel will happily meet clients for walking-therapy at the nearby Monrovia Library Park, and pets are welcome there!

  • Dr. Kiel has extensive training on multiple types of assessment, but typically does not offer this service. Please email us to discuss your needs. 

    Dr. Kiel does not offer educational assessment for minors, autism diagnosis, or court proceedings.
